Privacy Policy

Whose notice this is

These lines describe how bonusvoyagenl.com, a self-funded hotel guide, deals with the little personal information that reaches it. The editors make those decisions and answer privacy questions at hello@bonusvoyagenl.com.

No sign-up, no tracking

You never need an account, a password or a subscription to read anything here. We deliberately run no visitor statistics, heatmaps or audience-measurement tools, so your reading habits stay unrecorded by us.

Emails you choose to send

A message you send us, typed directly or drafted with the help of our contact form, reaches us carrying its usual contents, which tend to be your name, your address and whatever you wrote. That content is read so we can reply, and it is put to no other purpose.

What the web host sees

Like almost every website, ours sits on a server whose provider may note technical details of each visit, such as the requesting IP address, browser version, which page was asked for and when. Those entries help defend the server against abuse, expire after a brief period and are not used to identify readers.

A single browser entry

One tiny value is saved in your browser to recall how you answered the storage notice; the Cookie Policy explains it.

Off the table

  • No ad networks, social buttons or tracking pixels are embedded anywhere.
  • No profiles of readers exist, and no automated decisions concern you.
  • No personal data is ever sold, rented out or exchanged.

Outside companies

Our lettering is downloaded from Google Fonts, so Google learns the IP address of each device that fetches those letterforms. Once you click through to a hotel, the hotel's own privacy rules take over.

Grounds and timing

We process emails on the footing of legitimate interest: a reader wrote, so we answer. We hold a thread for as long as the exchange continues and clear it out no later than a year after it goes quiet.

What you can ask for

Under the privacy statute that covers you, it may be possible to obtain a copy of your emails with us, fix or remove them, curb or contest their use, and take a grievance to the data watchdog where you live. Email any such request and we will handle it within the deadline your law sets.

Under-18s

The guide addresses adults only. Messages that turn out to come from someone under 18 are deleted as soon as that becomes clear; collecting such data is never our aim.

If this notice changes

Changes in our data handling will show up on this page under a new date.
