How the order gets settled
One fixed questionnaire for all ten hotels, answered in plain sentences.
The bedroom outweighs the casino
What counts is the guest's experience between arriving and leaving: the destination, the architecture, how restful the room is and how much lies within an easy stroll. A gaming floor gets the same single line we might give a fitness room or a valet desk, and it has no power to lift or sink anyone.
No stars, no points
This site carries no numerical grades, star symbols or blended guest averages. A hotel's place in the line-up is a judgement made by people, explained in the review rather than condensed into a figure.
Placement is never for sale
Hotels, hotel groups, marketing agencies and tourism bodies cannot buy their way onto the list or up it. The links we send readers to are clean: they carry no affiliate tags, no commission deals and no reservation widgets.
Five questions put to every hotel
| Area | The question |
|---|---|
| Destination | Would you travel here even without the resort, and how much of it opens up without a hire car? |
| Building | Does its design, past or position give it a personality that lingers after checkout? |
| Room | Floor space, daylight, outlook, and whether quality swings noticeably from one tower or wing to another. |
| Beyond the door | Pools, spas, kitchens, gardens and stages that earn the trip without the casino's help. |
| Best suited to | Which sort of guest leaves happiest, summed up in the short "Best for" note at the foot of each write-up. |
Keeping the list current
The full ranking is reread at fixed intervals, and any hotel that announces a refurbishment, a rebrand or a shutdown triggers an extra look straight away. Look beside the ranking heading for the month of the most recent check.
